AREA: Cadaret named manager of Chico Outlaws

Greg Cadaret was named Thursday as the new manager of the Golden Baseball League's Chico Outlaws.
The 46-year-old Cadaret had a 10-year major league career with stints in Oakland, which drafted him, the New York Yankees, Cincinnati, Kansas City, Detroit, Anaheim and Texas.
Cadaret more recently has managed the Redding Colt .45s summer collegiate program, as well as assisted with the Simpson University team and for Foothill High School. Full story »

Shasta College wrestling coach Max Burch has been named as an inductee to the California Wrestling Hall of Fame.Burch, a self-taught wrestling coach, guided Shasta High School for 32 years from 1964 to 1996 before restarting the Shasta College program in 2001.

The Redding Rapids U19 boys soccer team won the California Rush Thanksgiving Classic in Sacramento on Sunday.The Rapids came from 2-1 down at halftime to beat the Central United Fury of Fresno 3-2 in the title game.
