Christmas message in Red Bluff is 'shop locally'

Shop locally. That's the holiday message the Downtown Red Bluff Business Association is sending out this year.The business association originally was formed to promote the historic downtown area and to encourage people to shop in its stores, but the message is even more critical this year, said Michelle Carlson, an association board member.

Red Bluff council approves Wal-Mart Supercenter

RED BLUFF - After years of delays and a lawsuit, a proposed Wal-Mart Supercenter is back on track.The Red Bluff City Council voted 3-1 Monday night in favor of the project. Councilman Wayne Brown cast the lone dissenting vote, saying he felt the impacts to traffic in the area will be too heavy. Councilman Dan Irving did not attend the special meeting because his wife is a Wal-Mart employee.
