"Lutherans host creation events"

- Holy crap! (literally!)... I urge all of you out there, especially those of you with children, to not buy in to the line of ridiculous crap proffered by the "Alpha Omega Institute".

Any time a bunch of hustlers like this want to separate you from your child so they can be taught unscientific nonsense that pollutes their brains for life... a giant red flag should go up for you as a responsible parent.

These people are related to the scam artists at "Answers in Genesis" who produce bogus "scientific papers" and try to present them as evidence of their utterly ridiculous claims.

In order to agree with the liars and cheats from the "Alpa Omega Institute" you must throw away the research of thousands of the world's mainstream scientists in the following areas:

Paleontology
Biology
Archaeology
Geology
Cosmology
Astronomy
Physics

and many more.

It's sad that people like this work to misinform our youth, causing America's formerly superior prowess in areas of science and technology to be further jeopardized.

Please don't allow your child to be fed such nonsense. Get the facts.

Do you want creationists teaching your children about Geology?

What creationists claim:

"The theory of plate tectonics is false."

What scientific study tells us:

Plate tectonics was uncertain as recently as the 1960s, but evidence in its favor has become overwhelming:

* Plate motions are measured directly.

* The eastern edge of the continental shelves of North and South America fit closely (within 50 km) with the western continental shelves of Africa and Europe. The Mid-Atlantic Ridge has the same shape.

* Plant and animal fossil distributions, geological formations, and indications of ancient climate match up in Africa and South America as if the continents once fit together.

* When new rocks are formed, they record the earth's current magnetic field, which reverses occasionally. The magnetic field pattern recorded in the sea floor rocks shows bands mirrored across a spreading center.

* Paleomagnetic studies show different polar wandering on different continents, indicating that the continents moved relative to one another.

* Oceanic sediments are young and thin, indicating that sea basins are relatively young.

* Maps of earthquake locations show plate boundaries and the paths of subducting plates.

* Hot spots leave trails such as volcanic island chains as the plates move over them.

If you want your children to have the opportunity to become productive members of a thriving scientific community as educated and successful adults... don't let creationists get their hands on your kids!

Do you want creationists teaching your children about Biology?

What creationists claim:

"As related in Genesis 2, Eve was created from one of Adam's ribs. As a consequence, men have one fewer set of ribs than women do."

What scientific study tells us:

1) Men and women have the same number of ribs.

2) The Genesis account may be an explanatory myth for the absence of a different bone. Most male mammals have a baculum, a bone for stiffening the penis. Humans are one of the rare exceptions, relying on hydraulics instead. Genesis 2:21-23 could refer to its removal from Adam. A baculum, unlike a rib, is associated with reproduction. The closing of flesh mentioned in Genesis 2:21 could refer to the raphe, a seam on the penis and scrotum. Biblical Hebrew has no word for penis, so another term would have to be used. The Hebrew word for "rib" has other meanings such as the supporting columns in trees, or planks in doors; it could have referred to a structural support generally.

If you don't want your children to be misinformed by poorly educated people who have absolutely no background in science and who serve the sole purpose of furthering a purely religious agenda at the expense of further American advancements in science and technology... don't let creationists get their hands on your kids!
