New rewards

Up to 2,500 for information leading to the capture and arrest of the person or people who burglarized Burrito Bandito, Iron Burger and Dutch Bros. on Airport Road in Redding. The burglaries occurred July 23 and July 25. Contact the Shasta County Sheriff's Office or Secret Witness.

Up to $2,500 for information leading to the capture and arrest of the person or people who burglarized a home on Highway 44 in Millville. The burglary occurred between Sept. 5 and Sept. 15. Personal property including jewelry, generators, a chain saw and a Ducks Unlimited Edition shotgun were stolen. Contact the Shasta County Sheriff's Office or Secret Witness.

Current rewards

Up to $28,351 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the fatal shooting of Jon Ford, who was discovered unconscious at his home on Mountain School Road in Round Mountain on March 12, 2007, and later died. Up to $20,000 for information leading to the location of Tera Smith, who disappeared Aug. 22, 1998, is being offered by private parties.

Up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the murder of Christina Diane Stevens, 54, in a fire at 13345 Old Oregon Trail in Redding on Nov. 9. The fire at her home appeared to have been started to cover up the homicide. Anyone with information is asked to call Shasta County sheriff's investigators at 245-6135 or 245-6540.

Up to $10,000 for information about a trailer fire in Bella Vista where 45-year-old Walter Lloyd James was found dead. The fire occurred about 4 a.m. July 15, 2007, at 11549 Bluff Road, near Robbie Lane. Shasta County sheriff's investigators have labeled the man's death as suspicious. A cause of death has not been determined. Call the Shasta County Sheriff's Office or Secret Witness.

Up to $10,000 for information about the following murders: Frank W. McAlister, whose car was found in a parking lot on Dana Drive on May 7, 1993, and his body was found in the Shingletown area April 13, 1994; Despina Magioudis, 53, found Aug. 10, 1991, off East Cypress Avenue; Judith Hasselstrom, found in Caldwell Park on Aug. 7, 1988; and Terry Arndt, found in Burney on Dec. 14, 1984.

Up to $3,000 for information leading to the arrest of the driver responsible for a noncontact hit-and-run Aug. 12, 2005, which resulted in a fatal collision on Highway 299. The driver of an eastbound, light-colored, compact vehicle is thought to have forced a westbound driver off the road. As a result, the driver of the westbound vehicle lost control of his car and crashed into a tree. That driver suffered major injuries and his passenger died at the scene.

Up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who entered Dennis Adcock's apartment July 24 at 768 West St. in Redding. Adcock was stabbed numerous times before the suspect ran away. Contact the Redding Police Department.

Up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest of the person or people who stabbed a man in front of the AM/PM market at 4095 Railroad Ave. in Redding on May 3 for no apparent reason. Contact the Redding Police Department.

Up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest of the man suspected of robbing the U.S. Bank on Dana Drive in Redding on Aug. 24, 2007. The suspect is described as black, 4 feet 11 inches to 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 135 to 150 pounds, and having short black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt with blue sleeves and blue jeans. He entered the bank, presented the teller with a demand note that indicated he had a weapon. Up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person or people who committed an armed robbery of the Midway Market at 7200 Highway 273 in Redding about 9 p.m. May 8, 2007. A male brandished a chrome-colored handgun at the market's cashier and took an undisclosed amount of cash before running south on Highway 273. The man wore gloves, a dark ski mask, a white-hooded sweatshirt and black or dark blue basketball-style shorts with a light blue and white stripe down the side. Up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest of a hit-and-run driver who was traveling east on Highway 44 at 9:30 p.m. June 23, 2006. The vehicle swerved across onto the southbound Interstate 5 transition road and struck and killed a pedestrian who was walking east on Highway 44. The driver stopped momentarily before fleeing. The north Redding office of the California Highway Patrol is investigating.

Up to $1,500 for information leading to the recovery of property and the arrest of the individuals responsible for a burglary at 1315 Magnolia Ave. in Redding. The robbery occurred between Nov. 20 and 25, but the specific time is undetermined. Call Secret Witness or the Redding Police Department.

Up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of Rickie Alan Biddle Jr., who failed to appear in court while out on bond. He is a suspect in an armed home invasion robbery at a Jones Valley residence on Oct. 1, 2007, along with three other suspects. Biddle is considered to be armed and dangerous and has changed his appearance to evade arrest. He may be in the Shasta County area or in his Southern California hometown. Up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people who stole a decorative metal fish sculpture July 24 from the center median at Cypress Avenue, east of Market Street. The sculpture was about 4 to 5 feet long. Contact the Redding Police Department.

Up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrests and convictions of two suspects who robbed the Bechelli Market in Redding about 9 to 9:30 p.m. May 24. An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen. Both suspects were described as white male adults, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, both in their late teens to early 20s, weighing about 160 pounds. One of the suspects was carrying a knife that had an 8- to 10-inch stainless steel blade. Contact the Redding Police Department or Secret Witness.

Up to $1,000 for tips leading to the arrest of the people who ransacked the Superior Thrift Store in Redding. The business at 3492 S. Market St. was burglarized and vandalized sometime on the night of Feb. 2 or the morning of Feb. 3. The intruders stole cash and an estimated $20,000 in merchandise, smashed glassware and lighting, and spray-painted gang-type graffiti on items inside the store. They also damaged a water-pump hose, which caused flooding in the rear of the building. Contact Secret Witness or the Redding Police Department.

Up to $1,000 by faculty and students at Shasta College's farm for information leading to the arrests of those responsible for the Sept. 14, 2007, poisoning death of their 800-pound breeding boar, Romeo. Call Secret Witness or Shasta County Animal Regulation at 245-6065.

Up to $500 is offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for a burglary of Redding Rancheria Health Service's pharmacy at 3184 Churn Creek Road in Redding on Aug. 10 between 3 a.m. and 4:45 a.m.

The suspects kicked in the door and stole several bottles of Vicodin tablets. Contact the Redding Police Department or Secret Witness.

Up to $500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people who burglarized the snack shack and vandalized the pool area at the Redding Aquatic Center on June 20. Call the Redding Police Department or Secret Witness.

Standing rewards

Up to $5,000 by various fire agencies for information about people responsible for arson or fires that burn or threaten commercial, federal or state timberlands in Plumas, Lassen, Tehama, Modoc, Shasta and Siskiyou counties.

Up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person or people who apply graffiti throughout Redding.

Police have noticed an increase in activity by graffiti vandals, with some of the graffiti being gang-related. Contact the Redding Police Department or Secret Witness.

Up to $1,000 by the state Department of Fish and Game for information about people who violate fish and wildlife laws.

Up to $500 on a case-by case basis for information about marijuana cultivation, illegal drug labs and all narcotics sales. Contact the Shasta County Sheriff's Office, Shasta Interagency Narcotics Task Force, Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement or Secret Witness.

Up to $500 for information about illegal digging at archaeological sites and removal of artifacts from sites on national forest lands.

Up to $500 for information about vandalism on Bureau of Land Management property.

Up to $500 by the Cattlemen's Association for information about the killing, theft and vandalism of property belonging to their members.

Up to $500 for information about vandalism to public property in the Burney area.

Up to $300 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people involved in vehicle burglaries and thefts from garages near Saratoga and Alta Mesa drives in Redding from mid-April through June 12.
