Free tire recycling event

There will be a free tire recycling event on Nov. 15, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Shasta District Fairgrounds in Anderson. The Shasta County Department of Resource Management will be accepting tires for recycling.

Residents can transport a maximum of 9 tires per vehicle to the event and five of the nine tires can be on rims.

A special transportation permit can be issued for people who have from 10 to 20 tires to recycle. Call 225-5789 or 1-800-528-2850 for additional information.

imho, the temporal window of opportunity seems so minimal. only 5 short hours.

This should be great for the community especially since it on a Saturday.

By the Record Searchlight staff, if you added "Saturday" to your story you would probably help generate more intrust from those of us who work all week.

Why are they advertising it now if it is not until November ? Is actually in October and they don't want a lot of donations ?
