Here's a list of what's open and closed Monday, Columbus Day.
Government: State and federal offices will be closed. Shasta County courts will be closed. City and county offices open.
Mail: No mail delivery.
School: All Shasta County schools will be open with the exception of Indian Springs School in Big Bend.
Trash: Trash collection unaffected.
Redding Area Bus Authority: Buses unaffected.
Commerce: Most retail stores open. Theaters open.
Newspaper: The Record Searchlight will be open.
