Couples can get health tips Tuesday

Make a date for better health together.

Mercy Medical Center on Tuesday will offer couples important health tips to care for each other. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Medical professionals will offer tips on how you can help prevent and deal with major injuries or illnesses that may happen to you or the one you love. Light hors d'oeuvres with sparkling cider will be served. Exhibits of Mercy's newest services will be featured.

Couples of all ages are encouraged to attend the free event.

Nordic class offered at Sports Ltd.

A nordic walking "crash course" will be held at Sports Ltd. on Hilltop Drive in Redding at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 25.

The two-hour course will be led by Courtney McElvain, a nordic walking master trainer and operator of Torty's Holistic Fitness.

Sean Michael Deichler has joined Pio Loco's bar staff in Redding.

Deichler is a journeyman bartender who has worked in United Kingdom at the Pyrgi's in Middlesbrough and Hollier's on the Isle of Wight. Deichler also has owned a restaurant and catering business in Greece.
