No. 2 West Valley (8-2) Offense: The Eagles will again rely on their multiple running-back look comprised of Bobby Guyton (602 yards rushing) Ben Bradshaw (332 yards), Zach Miller (360 yards) and potentially Derek Serna who hurt his ankle three weeks ago against Central Valley. The Eagles expected to have Serna back in some fashion by today, but to what extent he'll be available is undetermined. WV might have some luck in the air, too. Sutter QB Jon Garcia cut the Pirates up for three scores on Nov. 3.

The Cougars earned the Eastern Athletic League title and D-II top seed despite twice losing to the Spartans, once in a tough, five-game thriller in Red Bluff and once in an absolute stinker — a three-game demolition at the Cougars' Palace.
But even in the Red Bluff clunker, the zaniness that is Foothill volleyball reigned.
"If we get angry, we lose focus," said one of the Lords of Goofy, Taylor Ray.

Destiny is in the Knights' hands.
Win and the first bowl game in six years comes their way.
Lose, and maybe Shasta still gets into a bowl. Then again, they might not.
So this is what comes down to: College of the Redwoods vs. Shasta College at 5 p.m. today at Memorial Stadium with a postseason bowl at stake.

University Prep's Kelly Crowley put the season in perspective perfectly.
A first-year varsity football program usually goes 2-8, or even more likely 0-10.
Does a first-year program win a league title?
No.
Does a first-year program host a playoff game?
No.
Should the U-Prep High School football team linger on Friday's season-ending loss to Etna?
Definitely not.
Instead, the Panthers should focus on those rare accomplishments they managed to reach in Friday's 26-13 first-round defeat in the Northern Section Division IV playoffs.
